Job summary

Waters is seeking an Automation Servicer Engineer to service BD Advanced Diagnostics instruments across a designated territory, with national coverage as needed. The role requires strong electronics, mechatronics, and PLCs knowledge, plus travel and on-call capabilities.

The ASE will install, maintain, and upgrade instruments, respond to customer needs, and collaborate with teams to meet service revenue goals. Regular on-site visits, overnight travel, and a 10:00am–7:00pm schedule are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years of hands-on experience in electro-mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of PLCs and pneumatics.
• Basic networking, IT and software/OS familiarity.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, upgrade, and repair BD advanced diagnostics instruments in territory and nationally.
• Interact with customers to explain work performed and plan next steps.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and company equipment; ensure equipment meets specs.
• Coordinate with service and support teams to drive revenue through preventive maintenance.
• Document all service activity and customer feedback in CRM systems.
• Participate in on-call rotation (~every 6 weeks) with potential travel.
