Job summary

6 Degrees Search in Addison, IL is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support installation, calibration, and repair of custom industrial equipment at customer sites. You will travel regularly and serve as the face of the company on site.

Back at the facility you will help write SOPs, digitize records, update manuals, and help build a scalable service organization. The ideal candidate has hands-on maintenance experience and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in hands-on maintenance or field service on equipment.
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
• BS/AAS or cert in electronics/engineering preferred; equivalent acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to install, commission, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve issues across electrical, controls, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Provide hands-on training to customers on operation, maintenance, and safety.
• Maintain strong customer relationships as primary contact for service needs.
• Identify upsell opportunities including service agreements and preventive maintenance.
• Relay field observations to internal teams for product/service improvements.
• Assist with in-house assembly and testing during non-travel periods.
