Job summary

Illumina is seeking a Field Service Engineer to provide on-site installation, upgrade, diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair of complex Illumina systems. You will build strong client relationships, monitor instrument uptime, and coordinate with regional teams to ensure optimal service delivery.

Ideal candidates have a BS in a related field with 2+ years of experience, familiarity with hardware, software, and networking, and a proven ability to manage service cases in SFDC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of related experience or equivalent
• Biotech/biomedical knowledge preferred
• Familiarity with field optical alignments, robotics, electrical/electronics, and mechanical systems
• Technical knowledge of computer hardware, Windows OS, and networking

Responsibilities

• Install, upgrade, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair Illumina instrumentation on client sites
• Proactively monitor instrument performance and schedule maintenance to maximize uptime
• Manage service activity and case documentation in SFDC per guidelines
• Build and strengthen customer relationships and communicate performance metrics
• Lead equipment installations and software/firmware upgrades
• Provide onsite training and support to other field service engineers
