Illumina is seeking an Onsite Field Service Engineer 2 in Houston, TX to install, diagnose, and repair complex Illumina equipment at customer sites. You will monitor instrument performance, manage service tasks, and ensure high customer satisfaction while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2–6 years of relevant experience, with strong problem‑solving, communication, and planning abilities.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2–6 years of related experience; advanced degree acceptable.
• Experience servicing biotech instrumentation is preferred; strong problem‑solving skills essential.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team with strong communication skills.
• Familiarity with field optical alignments, robotics, electrical/electronics and mechanical systems.
• Technical knowledge of computer hardware, Windows OS, and networking.

Responsabilités

• Install, upgrade, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex Illumina equipment onsite.
• Provide feedback to management and promote efficiency in daily operations.
• Maintain SFDC case management and document activities quality‑mindedly.
• Lead site meetings and report metrics on instrument performance and downtime.
• Coordinate with NSST and product support for sustaining engineering activities.
