Job summary

Illumina is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, diagnose, repair and maintain complex Illumina instruments on-site at customer sites in Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL. You will troubleshoot, upgrade, and validate equipment, while building strong customer relationships and ensuring high instrument uptime.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of field service experience, strong problem-solving, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field; 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience servicing biotech instrumentation is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain Illumina platforms on-site.
• Troubleshoot a wide range of customer-reported problems.
• Manage tasks to maximize instrument uptime and customer satisfaction.
• Complete post-repair/install validation runs on all platforms.
• SFDC case management and documentation in a quality manner.
• Schedule and perform equipment upgrades and new installations.
• Escalate repairs as needed and coordinate with product/support teams.
• Lead site meetings and report metrics on instrument performance.
