Job summary

PerkinElmer in CA seeks a Customer Support Engineer to maintain a high standard of professional service at customer sites. You will be the company face, ensuring customer needs are met promptly while supporting our analytical instruments.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance for contract customers, non-contract repairs billed hourly, software and service upgrades, inventory management, and clear documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in applied science, biology, chemistry, electronics, mathematics, or engineering.
• 2+ years of experience maintaining and repairing analytical lab equipment.
• Experience using Microsoft 365.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and safely operate a motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide scheduled preventive maintenance for contract customers.
• Remedial maintenance for non-contract customers billed at an hourly rate.
• Drive toward zero service recalls.
• Complete assigned preventive maintenance calls at customer sites within prescribed time frames.
• Demonstrate knowledge of service agreements to provide billing information.
• Drive leads of new service agreements and upgrades to existing contracts.
• Educate and promote training, support, software, and upgrades.
• Maintain updated documentation around dispatch, inventory and service support functions.
