Job summary

Mazak Corporation Canada is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install CNC Lathes and Machining Centers at customer sites, train users, and perform warranty and post-warranty service. The role covers the Denver, CO area with overnight travel from home and regional responsibilities.

Reports to the Western Technology Center in Gardena, CA. Responsibilities include installation, diagnostics, operation testing, and documentation.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical training in electronics, mechanical or machine tool assembly.
• 3-7 years of Field Service experience.
• Read/understand engineering drawings.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs daily.
• Familiar with PLC and HYD/Pneumatic circuits.

Responsibilities

• Install machines and accessories at customer sites, including assembly, leveling, aligning, adjusting, calibrating and wiring.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and software problems on machines at customer sites.
• Test operation of machines after installation or repair.
• Train customers on machine functions and features.
• Prepare reports documenting installation and repairs performed.
• Overnight travel to customer facilities as required.

Job description

Mazak Corporation searching for a candidate who will install equipment, train customers, execute warranty repairs and provide after warranty service on CNC Lathes and Machining Centers. Field Service Engineers are assigned Regional responsibilities and operate directly from their residences. This position reports to the Western Technology Center in Gardena, CA. Duties involve overnight travel from home to various customer facilities, located primarily in the Denver, CO area. Travel is required.

Scope and Responsibilities

Essential duties include, but not limited to the following:

• Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees
• Install machines and accessories at customer sites. Installation includes all necessary assembly, leveling, aligning, adjusting, calibrating and wiring of machines and accessories.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and software problems on machines and accessories at customer sites.
• Test operation of machines and accessories after completing installation or repair
• Train customers on functions of the machines
• Learn new machines features and accessories as they become available
• Complete reports documenting installation, assessment of reported problem, repairs completed, parts installed
• Travel is required. Assignments will require overnight or multiple night stay.

Education/Certification

• 2-year technical training in electronics, mechanical or machine tool assembly

Skills

• 3-7 years of experience in Field Service
• Read/understand engineering drawings
• Ability to work on own or in group while completing necessary tasks
• Ability to understand PLC
• HYD/Pneumatic circuits
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs on a repetitive daily basis.
• Heavier lifting in excess of 50lbs on periodic basis
• Ability to problem solve depending on situation.
• Sound writing and reporting skills.

The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $95,000
