Job summary

GeoSearch is seeking a hands-on, organized Service Department Coordinator in California to support IT, drone, camera, and comms deployments. You will schedule projects, prep equipment, coordinate field resources, and document installations, testing, and customer handoffs.

The role combines service coordination with practical technical work, requiring travel to customer sites and the ability to troubleshoot a range of systems. Opportunities exist for growth with enterprise deployments.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, technical diploma, military training, or equivalent practical experience in IT, electronics, telecom, aviation, or robotics.
• At least two years in technical support, field service, IT installation, electronics, systems integration, or drone operations.
• Working knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, Ethernet, Wi‑Fi, IP addressing, cellular connectivity, and cloud applications.
• Able to configure and troubleshoot equipment from procedures, diagrams, and manufacturer documentation.
• Strong organizational skills across multiple concurrent projects, schedules, and customer requests.
• Professional written and verbal communication, including explaining technical information to nontechnical customers.
• Valid driver's license, ability to travel to customer sites, and ability to satisfy customer background checks and site-access requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate customer deployments, installations, training sessions, maintenance visits, and support activities, and maintain the service calendar and ticket queue.
• Confirm scope, site access, equipment availability, personnel, travel, and prerequisites before every deployment.
• Prepare work orders, checklists, service reports, and acceptance forms, and track milestones and repair status.
• Receive, inventory, label, inspect, configure, test, and stage equipment before shipment or field deployment.
• Configure computers, routers, switches, access points, cameras, and related IT equipment.
• Install and connect drone, IT, and camera equipment at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, cellular, and docking-system issues; escalate as needed.
• Maintain service tools, deployment kits, inventory, and update SOPs and installation guides.
