Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to be the voice and first point of contact for our customers. You will use your consultative sales skills to understand client needs and convert opportunities into loyal customers.

The role focuses on maximizing revenue from facilities and construction sites, managing existing relationships, and expanding into new accounts. A performance-based commission structure accompanies a base salary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
• Three years of sales experience is required.
• Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills are essential.
• Strong planning, problem-solving and negotiation abilities are necessary.
• Knowledge of construction or related equipment is preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record is required.

Responsibilities

• Maximize revenue from facilities and construction sites in a defined geographical territory.
• Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers and their subsidiary companies, acting as a single point of contact.
• Prospect and qualify new accounts from existing accounts, dormant or non-customer accounts, including competitor accounts.
• Collaborate with specialty division representatives to promote cross selling to accounts wherever possible.
• Prepare sales action plans and strategies.
• Develop and present company products and services to current and potential clients.
• Utilize Salesforce.com and other CRM tools to develop a pipeline of opportunities.
• Monitor competitors, market conditions and product development.
