Job summary

United Rentals is seeking an Outside Sales Rep to be the voice and initial contact for customers. You will leverage consultative sales to convert opportunities into loyal customers, building relationships and selling equipment and services.

The role emphasizes revenue growth, relationship management, and cross-selling across divisions. The position offers base salary plus monthly commissions, with onboarding incentives and a safety-sensitive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Three years of sales experience.
• Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills.
• Strong planning, problem-solving and negotiation abilities.
• Knowledge of construction or related equipment preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maximize revenue from facilities and construction sites in a defined territory.
• Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers and subsidiaries.
• Prospect and qualify new accounts, including competitors.
• Collaborate with specialty divisions to promote cross-selling.
• Prepare sales plans and strategies.
• Present products and services to clients.
• Use CRM tools to develop a pipeline of opportunities.
• Monitor competitors and market conditions.
• Perform other duties as needed.
