Job summary

ScottsMiracle-Gro is seeking a Sales Manager to join our Field Sales team in Texas. You will lead an assigned sales territory, build relationships with home center retailers such as The Home Depot and Lowe’s, and drive in-store presence of Scotts brands.

You will develop and execute sales and marketing plans, manage a budget, and oversee Merchandisers. The role offers leadership opportunities, bonus potential, and vehicle reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year experience in retail, merchandising, and or account management.
• Preferred experience supervising/managing other employees and a budget.
• Strong delegation skills.
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
• Experience using sales forecasting tools.
• A problem solving and service oriented attitude.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends.
• Current, valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct the work of Merchandisers including planning, scheduling and delegating work assignments along with providing ongoing feedback
• Utilize strategic selling tactics by analyzing and preparing key metrics to educate our home center retail partners on business opportunities
• Develop retail sales/marketing plans and other creative marketing tools and events
• Develop recruiting plans, interviewing, and make hiring decisions to build out your Merchandiser team while effectively managing your budget
• Provide product knowledge across the portfolio of Scotts brands
• Assist retailers in proper merchandising of Scotts product lines, including the use of point-of-purchase materials, as appropriate, to meet account needs
