Job summary

ScottsMiracle-Gro is seeking a Sales Manager to lead our Field Sales team across assigned territory. You will build strong relationships with major home center retailers, drive in-store presence, and implement sales/marketing plans while managing budgets and a Merchandiser team.

The role offers leadership growth, bonus potential, and a vehicle reimbursement program. You will analyze metrics, coach staff, and execute merchandising strategies to meet account needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in retail, merchandising, and/or account management.
• Preferred experience supervising/managing other employees and a budget.
• Strong delegation skills.
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
• Experience using sales forecasting tools.
• A problem solving and service oriented attitude.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends.
• Current, valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to walk, stand, climb an 8-12 foot ladder, lift up to 45 lbs and be exposed to weather elements.

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct the work of Merchandisers including planning, scheduling and delegating work assignments along with providing ongoing feedback
• Utilize strategic selling tactics by analyzing and preparing key metrics to educate our home center retail partners on business opportunities
• Develop retail sales/marketing plans and other creative marketing tools and events
• Develop recruiting plans, interviewing, and make hiring decisions to build out your Merchandiser team while effectively managing your budget
• Provide job training and communicate product knowledge across the portfolio of Scotts brands
• Assist retailers in proper merchandising of Scotts product lines, including the use of point-of-purchase materials, as appropriate, to meet account needs
