Job summary

Graybar Electric Company, Inc. is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to develop new prospects and maintain contacts with established customers in Texas, visiting customer sites and off-site locations regularly.

You will meet or exceed gross margin budgets, handle complaints, and coordinate with management on market conditions, with travel required and an incentive program attached.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience required; 6+ years preferred.
• 4 year degree preferred.
• Knowledge of business administration, sales, and marketing.
• Negotiation skills and ability to persuade customers.
• Ability to learn our business and work independently to achieve goals.
• Extensive travel required, including some overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed annual gross margin budget by promoting and selling in the assigned territory while following pricing policies.
• Handle customer complaints promptly and report potential claims; keep management informed of competition and market conditions.
• Carry out sales and merchandise programs and recommend new items for stock.
• Maintain current customer records and assist in collecting past due accounts.
• Participate in training sessions, trade shows, and sales meetings; demonstrate products after sale when needed.
