Field Sales Engineer - Commercial Products Groups
Amphenol High Speed and Commercial Products Groups are market leaders in high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Strategic Market (Networking/IT Data Communications). Our products enable the electronics revolution and are key for major Tier 1 OEMs globally. We are seeking a Field Sales Engineer to join our Focused Markets team. The position is remote but based in the Southeast.

As a Sales Engineer, you will interface with external customers and internal teams—including product development, marketing, and applications—to sell and promote all Amphenol products within an assigned territory and accounts, through OEMs and distributors, via successful design wins and channel management. You will develop strategies to differentiate our products and solutions from competitors, expand our customer base, and increase penetration at existing accounts, including key global accounts. This role offers valuable insights into Sales, Marketing, Technical, and Product Development functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide sales leadership and collaborate closely with Field Applications Engineers and Business Units.
- Promote and sell Amphenol products to existing customers and develop new prospects.
- Manage large multimillion-dollar OEM accounts and coordinate activities across a global sales channel.
- Implement our Networking, IT, and Datacom strategy across North America, interfacing with Sales Reps, Distributors, and teams in Mexico & Asia.
- Identify interconnect opportunities/applications of Amphenol products, working with customer engineering teams to design in new products.
- Develop and execute sales plans and growth strategies for your territory and customers.
- Achieve and surpass sales quotas through new design wins and effective channel management.
- Motivate existing and potential customers to increase product content in their designs.
- Support technical aspects of the sales cycle, including marketing support for product development and implementation.
- Provide customer service by resolving complex interconnect issues and technical inquiries.
- Track orders and revenue per customer.
- Build rapport and support customers with information on samples, delivery, specifications, quality, and credit issues.
- Gain a thorough understanding of the market and competition in your territory.
- Stay informed about new products and relevant industry information.
- Conduct regular customer visits and travel as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business/Marketing or Engineering with a technical background.
- Business/Marketing aptitude.
- Knowledge of the interconnect solutions industry; experience in energy storage, eMobility, and lighting is a plus.
- 3+ years of field sales and applications experience, or related experience in energy markets.
- Understanding of international business practices is advantageous.
