Field Sales Engineer - Commercial Products Groups
Amphenol High Speed and Commercial Products Groups are leaders in high-speed, high-bandwidth electrical connectors for the Strategic Market (Networking/IT Datacom). Our products enable the electronics revolution and are key for major Tier 1 OEMs globally. We are seeking a Field Sales Engineer to join our Focused Markets team. The position is remote, based in the Southeast.
SUMMARY: Our success depends on solving cutting-edge problems related to high-bandwidth signal transmission. We value our relationships with our clients and rely on our Sales and Field Applications Engineering Teams to maintain these partnerships.
As a Sales Engineer, you will interface with external customers and internal teams (product development, marketing, applications) to sell and promote Amphenol products within an assigned territory and accounts, including OEMs and distributors. You will focus on design wins, channel management, and differentiating our solutions from competitors, aiming to expand our customer base and deepen penetration at existing accounts, including key global clients. This role offers insight into Sales, Marketing, Technical, and Product Development functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide sales leadership and collaborate with Field Applications Engineers and Business Units.
- Promote and sell Amphenol products to existing customers and develop new prospects.
- Manage large OEM accounts and drive activity across a global sales channel.
- Implement strategies for Networking, IT, and Datacom markets across North America, coordinating with Sales Reps, Distributors, and teams in Mexico & Asia.
- Identify interconnect opportunities and work with customer engineering teams to design in new products.
- Develop and execute sales plans and growth strategies for your territory and clients.
- Achieve sales quotas through new design wins and channel management.
- Encourage existing and potential customers to increase product content in their designs.
- Support technical aspects of the sales cycle and marketing efforts.
- Address complex interconnect problems and technical inquiries, providing excellent customer service.
- Track orders and revenue, maintaining strong customer relationships through support and information sharing.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the market and competition.
- Stay informed about new products and industry trends.
- Conduct regular customer visits and travel as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Engineering with a technical background.
- Business/Marketing aptitude.
- Knowledge of the interconnect solutions industry; experience in energy storage, eMobility, or lighting is a plus.
- At least 3 years of field sales and applications experience or related experience in energy markets.
- Understanding of international business practices is a plus.
