GuidePoint Security - Security Engineer Position

GuidePoint Security provides trusted cybersecurity expertise, solutions, and services that help organizations make better decisions and minimize risk. Position Overview: Security Engineers at GuidePoint Security are experienced, autonomous professionals passionate about security. They are involved throughout the security technology lifecycle, from pre-sales to delivery, with the freedom to scope and deliver engagements. As both a Value-Added Reseller (VAR) and a professional services organization, we require our Security Engineers to continually expand their knowledge with the latest technologies. This role is remote/virtual, primarily within the Greater Chicago or Milwaukee areas, with up to 75% travel within the North Central territory.

Position Requirements:

• Must reside in Cincinnati, OH, and be open to local/regional travel for client and partner events.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise security consulting, vendor, or operational roles involving security architecture and programs.
• Proficiency in multiple security technologies, including network security, NGFW, cloud security, Data Security, Vulnerability & Risk Management, Proxy, EDR, IAM, SIEM & Analytics.
• Strong listening skills to understand client issues and collaboratively develop solutions.
• Ability to research emerging vendors and technologies to address client challenges.
• Excellent soft skills to communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences.
• Proactive in maturing the business, enhancing existing offerings, and creating new ones.
• Ability to author technical and business collateral tailored for technical and managerial audiences.
• Work from remote/virtual environments when not visiting client sites or attending events.
• Travel within Cincinnati metro area required.
• Role expected to be 70% presales and 30% delivery.

Technical Requirements:

• Deep proficiency in multiple security technologies, including network security, NGFW, cloud security, DLP, CASB, Proxy, IAM, SIEM/Analytics.
• Expertise in designing enterprise-scale security solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in networking and security.
• Proficiency with various operating systems (Windows, Nix, OSX).
• Knowledge of advanced security concepts like Zero Trust and defense in depth.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with technologies such as Symantec DLP, ForeScout, Palo Alto, Check Point, CrowdStrike, Splunk, AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of security engineering or internal security program leadership.
• Pre-sales experience is highly preferred.
