Job summary

KHI Mechanical is seeking a Safety Manager to lead the company’s safety program across all operations and job sites. You will ensure OSHA compliance, implement safety policies, conduct audits, and foster a culture of safety with field leadership.

The role requires training, incident investigations, root cause analyses, and coordination of workers' compensation and insurance-related safety documentation. A strong communicator and proactive problem-solver will thrive in this role.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices.
• Experience developing and implementing safety programs in a construction environment.
• Ability to conduct incident investigations and root cause analyses.
• Excellent communication, training, and leadership skills.
• Strong organizational and recordkeeping abilities.
• Ability to build relationships with field personnel, supervisors, and subcontractors.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel between job sites.

Responsibilities

• Safety Program Management: Develop, implement, and maintain company safety policies and programs; ensure OSHA compliance; conduct inspections and audits; partner with field leadership to identify hazards and corrective actions; develop site-specific safety plans.
• Training & Employee Development: Conduct safety orientation and training; maintain training records; facilitate First Aid/CPR and equipment operator training; support foremen and supervisors with safety development; oversee investigations and root cause analyses; manage OSHA logs and regulatory reporting.
• Jobsite Safety Oversight: Visit active sites to evaluate conditions; monitor subcontractor safety performance; ensure hazards are controlled or eliminated; support hazardous material management and asbestos awareness.
• Safety Administration: Maintain safety records, reports, documentation, and safety metrics; complete pre-task plans and JHAs; assist in safety recognition programs.
• Equipment & PPE Management: Oversee PPE requirements and equipment inspections; coordinate removal or replacement of unsafe equipment.
