Job summary

CMC is hiring a Safety Manager to oversee safety programs across sites, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead training initiatives. You will conduct orientation, OSHA compliance training, and regularly inspect facilities, coordinating with contractors to mitigate hazards.

You will prepare safety plans, manage documentation, and mentor branch managers on safety policies, contributing to a culture of safe operations and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a safety management role.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Working knowledge of safety management.
• Experience with health and safety regulatory compliance agencies at local, state and federal levels.
• Experience with state workers compensation system.
• Experience analyzing information in accident / incident investigations.
• Experience with safety auditing preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to influence and drive safety improvements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to conduct trainings and presentations.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask on a daily basis.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety programs are compliant (Injury Illness Prevention, Hazard Identification, Hazard Control and Correction, CMC safety policies).
• Conduct New Employee Orientation training.
• Conduct OSHA compliance training.
• Monitor, organize and administer OSHA and CMC documentation compliance.
• Visit job sites frequently, interact with contractors, identify risks and hazards.
• Monthly physical plant inspections.
• Identify areas of risk and hazards.
• Advise Branch Managers on OSHA and CMC compliance requirements.
• Prepare job-specific safety plans including AHA, SDS, EAP, and CMC programs.
• Monitor and administer required training and certifications for branch employees.
• Complete and file OSHA and insurance documentation (OSHA 300, OSHA 301, First Report of Injury).
