Job summary

Commercial Metals Company in Akron is seeking a Safety Manager to lead environmental, health, and safety programs across our plants and construction sites. You will ensure compliance, train employees, and partner with site leadership to mitigate risks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a safety management role.
• Experience with health and safety regulatory agencies at local, state and federal levels.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and drive change in safety.
• Ability to conduct engaging presentations and training courses.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety programs are compliant with regulations.
• Conduct New Employee Orientation training.
• Conduct OSHA compliance training.
• Monitor OSHA and CMC documentation compliance.
• Visit job sites, interact with contractors, and identify risks and hazards.
• Monthly physical plant inspections.
• Advise Branch Managers on OSHA compliance and safety policies.
• Prepare job-specific safety plans (AHAs, SDS, EAP).
• Administer required training and certifications for branch employees.
• Complete and file OSHA and insurance documentation (OSHA 300, 301).
