Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Respiratory Therapist – Ventilator Support to deliver advanced respiratory care to ventilator-dependent patients in home and alternate care settings. You will work with physicians and care teams to ensure safe, coordinated outcomes outside the hospital.

You will educate patients and caregivers, perform assessments, and participate in discharge planning and ongoing follow-up to optimize therapy and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Associates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program.
• One (1) year of clinical experience as a Nurse with ventilator exposure, Healthcare Respiratory Therapist or HME Respiratory Therapist.
• Valid and unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license in all states serviced by the branch.
• CPR certification
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Maintain and apply advanced knowledge of respiratory equipment, ventilators, HME products, and related payer and regulatory guidelines.
• Perform clinical assessments and reassessments, including review of ventilator patient records, compliance data, and care plans; communicate findings to physicians and referral sources.
• Participate in discharge planning and execution for ventilator dependent patients, ensuring smooth transitions to home settings.
• Demonstrate and instruct patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals on ventilator units, supplies, and proper equipment use.
• Provide clinical follow up with physicians and referral sources regarding patient status and tolerance of therapy.
