Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Respiratory Therapist – Ventilator Support to deliver specialized respiratory care to ventilator-dependent patients in home and alternate care settings. The role combines hands-on patient care, education, and collaboration with physicians to ensure safe outcomes outside the hospital.

The therapist will maintain ventilator knowledge, perform assessments, participate in discharge planning, and provide clinical follow-up with physicians and referral sources.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience providing respiratory care to ventilator patients, including ventilator management and oxygen therapy.
• Strong clinical assessment, decision making, and problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with patients, caregivers and teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and apply knowledge of respiratory equipment, ventilators, HME products and guidelines.
• Perform clinical assessments and reassessments; communicate findings to physicians.
• Discharge planning and execution for ventilator-dependent patients to home settings.
• Demonstrate and instruct patients and caregivers on ventilator use and equipment.
