Job summary

AdaptHealth LLC is seeking a Respiratory Therapist – Ventilator Support to deliver specialized respiratory care to ventilator-dependent patients in home and alternate care settings. This field role combines hands-on patient care, education, and collaboration with physicians to ensure safe, coordinated outcomes outside the hospital.

Responsibilities include assessing patients, instructing caregivers, and supporting discharge planning while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in AMA-approved respiratory program.
• 1 year of clinical experience with ventilator exposure.
• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in states served.
• CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and apply advanced knowledge of respiratory equipment, ventilators, HME products, and related guidelines.
• Perform clinical assessments and communicate findings to physicians and referral sources.
• Participate in discharge planning for ventilator-dependent patients and ensure smooth home transitions.
• Instruct patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals on ventilator use and equipment.
• Document all patient care activities accurately in company systems.
• Maintain up-to-date patient records including prescriptions and plans of care.
