Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Respiratory Therapist – Ventilator Support to deliver specialized respiratory care to ventilator-dependent patients in home and alternate care settings. You will educate patients and caregivers, collaborate with physicians, and support safe, high-quality outcomes outside the hospital.

The role involves clinical assessments, discharge planning, and ongoing follow-up with care teams. Travel to various sites is required, and you will participate in on-call rotations as

Qualifications

• Associates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program.
• One year of clinical experience as a Nurse with ventilator exposure, Healthcare Respiratory Therapist or HME Respiratory Therapist.
• Valid and unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license in all states serviced by the branch.
• CPR certification.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and apply advanced knowledge of respiratory equipment, ventilators, HME products, and related guidelines.
• Perform clinical assessments and reassessments and communicate findings to physicians and referral sources.
• Participate in discharge planning for ventilator-dependent patients for smooth home transitions.
• Demonstrate and instruct patients and caregivers on ventilator units and equipment use.
• Provide clinical follow up with physicians and referral sources on patient status.
