Job summary

Convergint in Houston is seeking a Field Project Manager to lead installation, programming, start-up and training on Fire, Security, and Building Automation projects.

You will manage scope, schedule and budget with the project team, supervise field staff and subcontractors, and ensure QA and customer satisfaction.

This role emphasizes strong communication, problem solving and a safety-conscious approach in a fast-growing, team-oriented culture.

Qualifications

• Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong supervision and installation experience related to building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
• Strong field supervision skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
• Must be a self-starter and work well without supervision.
• Advanced mechanical and electrical aptitude and ability to read blueprints; math skills.
• Frequent visits to jobsites; minimal overnight travel; valid driver’s license.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Advanced organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Highly proficient with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Oversees overall site management of project(s) for successful and timely completion within budget and scope.
• Prepares project installation plan and implements job procedures with Project Coordinator.
• Supervises Project Specialists, Installers and subcontractors in the field and mentors colleagues.
• Coordinates and supervises subcontractors and on-site activities; ensures quality assurance.
• Assists in project coordination, scope changes and customer satisfaction improvements.
