Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Construction Project Engineer / Project Engineer I to join our fast-paced team in the Oakland area. The role focuses on translating construction documents into buildable plans, coordinating with field teams, and supporting the Superintendent to implement plans.

Under supervision, you will manage RFIs, ensure alignment with project documents, and contribute to closeouts. Bachelor’s degree in construction is preferred, with strong communication and teamwork skills essential

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in construction related field preferred.
Strong communication, sense of urgency and ownership.
Experience in related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Translate and coordinate project document information for field construction use.
Coordinate subcontractor work and develop details for self-performed work.
Coordinate and/or perform layout for self-performed work.
Track labor and quantities for self-performed work.
Order and track materials for self-performed work.
Verify installed work and resolve omissions via RFIs.
Create 3-week look ahead schedules using Lean tools.
Assist Superintendent with equipment scheduling and material deliveries.
Ensure work aligns with Pankow policies and safety procedures.
Create and maintain jobsite records and project documentation.
Participate in project closeouts and prepare archives.
