Job summary

Krystal Bio seeks a Patient Access Liaison to educate patients, caregivers, and healthcare staff on payer access, prior authorizations, and coverage across a field-based region in the US. You will collaborate with specialty pharmacies and distributors, manage tasks in the CRM, and travel 30–50% to support therapy initiation and adherence.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree required.
• 5+ years of field-based experience in patient services, field reimbursement, biopharma sales or account management with direct patient education and access support.
• Scientific background and ability to learn product and disease information.
• Orphan or Rare disease experience working directly with patients/caregivers.
• Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and FDA regulations.
• Ability to travel between 30%-50%.
• Ability to work in a team environment and lead with internal teams, specialty pharmacy partners, and field sales.
• Ability to respond promptly (within 24 hours) to prevent lapses in treatment.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and office staff about payer access and insurance processes, including prior authorization requirements.
• Assist patients in finding sites of care and home dosing options.
• Navigate office staff to identify personnel supporting coverage and access needs.
• Provide education on affordability options and patient assistance programs.
• Coordinate next appointments and treatment with patients.
• Develop relationships with patients and caregivers via various communication channels.
• Document case progress in the Krystal patient CRM/Workflow system.
• Support additional duties as assigned.
