Job summary

Krystal Biotech is seeking a Field-based Patient Access Liaison to educate patients, caregivers and office staff on payer access, prior authorization, and insurance processes across California and Arizona. You will support site options, copay assistance, and patient programs while building strong relationships with patients, caregivers, and providers.

The role requires 5+ years in patient services with rare disease exposure, HIPAA/FDA familiarity, and travel of 30–50%.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree required.
• 5+ years field-based patient services or related experience, with at least 1 year direct patient interaction.
• Experience in rare diseases with payer access knowledge.
• Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and FDA regulations.
• Willingness to travel 30-50%.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and office staff about payer access and insurance processes.
• Assist patients and office staff with finding sites of care closer to home and home dosing options.
• Navigate offices to identify personnel who support coverage and access needs.
• Educate on affordability options including copay assistance and patient assistance programs (PAP).
• Provide non-medical educational support about initiating therapy.
• Prepare patients and help coordinate next appointment and treatment.
• Develop trusted relationships with patients and caregivers via phone, text, email, virtual or in-person connections.
• Follow a planned education and support program to optimize adherence to therapy.
• Provide proactive education to large centers, community prescribers and sites about billing and coding requirements for product and professional services.
• Document progress in Krystal patient CRM/Workflow system and manage case duties.
