Job summary

Krystal Biotech is seeking a Patient Access Liaison to provide non-medical educational support and reimbursement guidance to patients and caregivers in a field-based role. You will educate on payer requirements, assist with site selection, and coordinate care with providers, pharmacies, and internal teams.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in patient services or reimbursement, a background in rare diseases, and HIPAA/FDA familiarity. Travel up to 50% is expected to support patients nationwide.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree required.
• 5+ years in patient services, field reimbursement, biopharma sales or account management with direct patient interaction.
• Orphan/rare disease experience working with patients/caregivers.
• Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and FDA regulations.
• Willingness to travel 30–50% and work in field.
• Experience with Patient Journey Navigator (PJN) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and office staff about payer access and insurance processes and authorization requirements.
• Help patients find sites of care and home dosing options.
• Navigate office/SOC staff to identify personnel supporting coverage needs.
• Educate on affordability options, copay assistance, PAP, and alternatives.
• Provide non-medical educational support about initiating therapy.
• Coordinate next appointments and treatment planning.
• Build trusted relationships with patients and caregivers via multiple channels.
• Follow educational programs to support adherence to therapy.
• Educate centers and sites on product procurement, billing, and coding requirements.
• Document progress in Krystal patient CRM/workflow system and manage tasks.
