Job summary

Waste Management in Indianapolis seeks an Operations Manager Trainee to onboard, develop, coach, mentor, and manage performance for all drivers and helpers. The role spends most of the day in the field with frontline employees, fostering positive relationships and guiding daily operations.

You will lead safety practices, conduct root cause investigations for injuries, and ensure regulatory documentation is maintained. This role supports route operations and frontline career growth.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree (accredited) or high school diploma with two years relevant experience.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the country.
• Driver's License required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Onboard, develop, coach, mentor, and manage performance of all drivers and helpers.
• Meet with new frontline employees daily for onboarding support.
• Provide timely and consistent touchpoints with frontline staff.
• Review safety and performance practices to improve daily outcomes.
• Investigate injuries and incidents with root-cause analysis and retraining.
• Maintain regulatory records and documentation (e.g., DOT-related).
• Visit customer sites to address safety issues and service concerns.
