Job summary

Waste Management in Chillicothe, OH seeks an Operations Manager Trainee responsible for onboarding, developing, coaching, and mentoring drivers and helpers, while maintaining strong front-line relationships and spending most days in the field with staff.

You will lead safety practices, investigate incidents, review DVIRs and attendance, and help route operations, with opportunities to advance through the WM Operations Manager Trainee program.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate's Degree or HS Diploma with 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Must be at least 18 and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid driver's license at hire.
• Preferred completion of WM Operations Manager Trainee program.

Responsibilities

• Onboard, develop, coach, mentor drivers and helpers; maintain positive relationships with frontline staff.
• Meet daily with new employees to ensure onboarding and communication.
• Provide timely touchpoints and feedback to frontline employees.
• Review best practices to improve daily performance and safety.
• Lead safety practices and conduct root cause investigations for injuries.
• Document and maintain records per regulatory requirements (e.g., DOT).
• Visit customers/sites to address safety issues and service concerns.
