Job summary

WM is seeking an Operations Manager Trainee to lead onboarding, coaching and performance management for drivers and helpers in field and plant environments. You will build strong relationships with frontline employees and spend the majority of your day in the field supporting daily duties and safety.

The role emphasizes safety, root cause investigations, regulatory record-keeping, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Associate’s Degree (accredited) or, in lieu of a degree, High School Diploma (accredited) and two (2) years of relevant work experience.
Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
Driver's License required on hire.

Responsibilities

Onboarding, developing, coaching, mentoring, and performing management of all drivers and helpers.
Meet with new frontline employees daily to support onboarding and consistent communication.
Provide timely touchpoints and feedback to frontline employees.
Review best practices to enhance daily performance and progress on career goals.
Identify improvement opportunities and collaborate with frontline employees for success.
Lead coaching conversations and model safety practices as a priority.
Document and maintain regulatory records (e.g., DOT) and review route operation documentation daily.
Visit customers and sites to evaluate safety issues and propose service alternatives.
