Job summary

E2 Optics in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Field Supervisor to lead installation teams within our data center projects. You will ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery by organizing personnel, resources, and schedules on onsite environments.

Ideal candidates bring 3–6 years in structured cabling with supervisory experience, OSHA 30, and PMBOK familiarity. Travel may be required to support multiple sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification within the first 2 weeks in the role.
• BICSI Installer 2 Copper preferred; BICSI Installer 2 Fiber preferred.
• BICSI Certified Technician, must be earned within 12 months in role.
• Minimum 3-6 years work experience in Structured Cabling or related industry/construction experience.
• Experience supervising and/or training in a project environment.
• Understanding of structured cabling systems, codes, and standards; PMBOK knowledge.
• Ability to develop and implement standard operating procedures for installation teams.
• Ability to travel as required by E2.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all aspects of installation.
• Plan, organize and direct personnel, resources and materials.
• Read and interpret floor plans, drawings, specifications, and cut sheets.
• Perform system testing and troubleshooting as required.
• Evaluate project requirements and validate SOW and project plan.
• Maintain 2-5 week look ahead schedule with Scheduling.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to technicians.
• Collaborate with Project Engineer to define compliant equipment and materials.
• Track, trend, and solve recurring issues to meet performance targets.
• Share best practices across sites and mentor teams.
