Job summary

E2 Optics is seeking an Installer to join our on-site field operations in Cedar Rapids, IA. The role involves hands-on installation activities, reading plans and cut sheets, and maintaining site safety and organization. You will learn structured cabling methods and travel as required by project needs.

The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and professional conduct in fast-paced environments, with opportunities for growth through hands-on experience and certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• OSHA 10 certification must be completed within the first 2 weeks.
• Experience in Structured Cabling or related construction
• Read, write and understand English
• Able to distinguish color codes

Responsibilities

• Follow safety practices and site policies.
• Assist the project team with installation activities as needed.
• Maintain jobsite organization and housekeeping; organize materials, tools, and equipment.
• Read floorplans, drawings, specifications, and cut sheets.
• Learn installation methods for structured cabling systems.
• Ask questions to clarify tasks before starting.
• Adhere to customer security requirements.
• Maintain professional appearance and behavior.
• Travel up to 50%+ in some regions; minimal overnight travel in others.
