Job summary

Gallagher Bassett is seeking a skilled Nursing Case Manager to provide medical management for workers’ compensation cases in the Kansas City, MO area, with up to two hours travel. You will collaborate with physicians, injured workers, and employers to coordinate care, discuss treatment plans, and facilitate safe return-to-work.

Required are a nursing degree and an active RN license; 3+ years of clinical experience in acute care.

Qualifications

• Requires degree from an applicable nursing program and a minimum of 3 years clinical experience in an acute care setting.
• Active RN license or equivalent in the practicing state or states where care management is performed.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred for role advancement.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate medical evaluation and treatment for workers’ compensation cases.
• Meet with physician and injured worker to align on treatment plans and return-to-work goals.
• Keep employer and referral sources updated on medical status and work capacity.
• Coordinate ancillary services (home health, DME, PT) and discuss job requirements for modified work.
• Discuss and evaluate treatment results with physicians and injured workers using evidence-based guidelines.
• Document case observations, assessments and plans.
• Generate status reports for referral sources and communication with involved parties.
• Prepare ongoing correspondence to referral sources, employers, providers and workers.
• Participate in telephonic case conferences as needed.
• Maintain a minimum caseload and billable hours with high quality compliance.
