Job summary

Gallagher Bassett is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide medical management for workers' compensation cases, coordinating care with doctors and employers to return workers to work. The role covers the New London, CT area with travel within a 2-hour radius and involves telephonic case management.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of acute care experience, an active RN license, and a Bachelor's degree is preferred. Travel and workers' compensation experience are pluses.

Qualifications

• Requires RN license within state of practice or states CM is performed.
• Minimum 3 years clinical experience in an acute care setting.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Willingness to travel to appointments within approximately a 2 hour radius.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate medical evaluation and treatment for workers' comp cases.
• Meet with physician and injured worker to discuss treatment plans and return-to-work goals.
• Keep employer and referral sources updated on medical care and work status.
• Coordinate ancillary services (home health, DME, PT) and communicate job requirements.
• Discuss and evaluate treatment plan outcomes with physician and injured worker.
• Document case observations, assessments, and plans; generate reports for referrals.
• Produce ongoing correspondence to all stakeholders involved in the care plan.
• Participate in telephonic case conferences when needed.
• Maintain a minimum caseload of 35 files and 150 monthly billable hours with 95% quality.
