Job summary

BD seeks a field-based Medical Sales Specialist to drive territory growth in the US. You will educate surgeons and OR staff, provide on-site technical support, and develop new accounts while achieving sales targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 3 years general sales experience; medical sales preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, oral communication, organizational and planning skills.
• Understands contract administration and group purchasing concepts.
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license and meet auto safety standards.
• Willing to travel at least 60%, including overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Attain sales goals within the designated territory and budget.
• Grow sales of current accounts and establish new accounts.
• Position self as a product specialist for BD products.
• Present, educate, and provide in-services to surgeons and OR staff.
• Provide on-site technical support during procedures.
• Train physicians and hospital staff on product use.
• Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and pricing structures.
• Meet territory sales and profitability goals.
• Develop new prospects and establish customers.
• Advise customers on product updates, backorders, pricing, and forecasts.
• Resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally.
• Attend meetings and tradeshows; report post-convention findings.
• Establish BD products as the standard for bid accounts.
