Job summary

BD in Warwick, RI is seeking a field-based Sales Representative to grow and manage our medical device portfolio within the territory. You will partner with surgeons and hospital staff, delivering product education, in-services, and on-site support to ensure proper usage and adoption of our solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Minimum of 3 years general sales experience, medical sales experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, communication, organizational and planning skills.
• Detailed understanding of the needs/analysis approach to sales.
• Understands the product buyer concept.
• Understands contract administration.
• Understands principles of group purchasing to include research, formulating and recommend proposal.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license and meet BD's auto safety standards.
• Must be able to meet and maintain customer/medical facility access requirements, including regular or periodic drug screenings with a satisfactory result in accordance with the requirements of the customer/medical facility serviced.
• Ability to travel at least 60%, including overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Attain sales goals established by the Company within the designated territory and budget.
• Grow sales of current accounts and establish new accounts.
• Position self as a product specialist and educate on our processes to surgeons, OR staff, and other individuals.
• Provide on-site technical support during procedures to ensure accurate use of the products.
• Train physicians and hospital staff on the use of the products.
• Ensure surgeons and staff have current product information and optimal utilization.
• Maintain knowledge of products, channels, and distribution methods.
• Meet territory sales and profitability goals.
• Develop new prospects and establish customers.
• Advise customers on product updates, backorders, pricing, contracts, and forecasts.
• Achieve prompt resolutions to customer complaints.
• Attend meetings and tradeshows and report back with insights.
