Job summary

Vallarta Supermarkets is seeking an IT Field Technician to provide onsite support at store locations, focusing on POS hardware, networks, and overall store technology infrastructure. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills, customer service, and the ability to travel within the assigned area.

The technician will perform hardware replacements, preventative maintenance, warranty coordination, PCI inspections, and detailed reporting.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years IT support/field service experience.
• Strong troubleshooting across hardware, software, and networking.
• Basic understanding of POS systems (Encor, Aloha) and virtual servers.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. and work on ladders or lifts when required.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite store tech support and customer service during field visits.
• Install, repair, and maintain store technology systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot POS systems, networking, telephony, and store devices.
• Coordinate hardware replacements and vendor warranty exchanges.
• Perform PCI pinpad inspections and ensure security compliance.
• Document all work, parts used, and resolutions; maintain logs.
