Job summary

Vallarta SuperMarkets is seeking an IT Field Technician to provide onsite technical support for store locations, focusing on POS systems, hardware, and network infrastructure.

The role requires travel within the assigned area, strong customer service, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment. PCI compliance inspections and warranty coordination are also part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years IT support or field service experience.
• Strong troubleshooting across hardware, software, and networking.
• Basic understanding of POS systems, PBX/VOIP, and virtual server environments.
• Ability to use network diagnostic tools and software.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite service and customer support during field visits or dispatches.
• Install, repair, and maintain store technology systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot POS systems (Encor & Aloha), networking issues, telephony, and other store devices.
• Perform hardware replacements for POS terminals and other equipment.
• Coordinate with vendors on warranty exchanges and RMA processes.
• Conduct PCI pinpad inspections to ensure security compliance.
• Document all work performed and maintain logs for mileage and expenses.
• Drive to store locations and manage travel-related logistics.
