Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an on-site inspector to support transportation construction projects across multiple locations, including Raleigh, NC. You will inspect traffic control, environmental controls, and materials, performing measurements and documentation under supervision.

A high school diploma and valid driver's license are required; NICET/ACI certifications are a plus. Expect 20–40% travel and collaboration with engineers, inspectors, and contractors to ensure quality and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or NICET/ACI in earthwork, asphalt, and concrete if required by client/jurisdiction.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials under direct supervision.
• Review daily contractor reports and quality control procedures to ensure conformance with the Quality Control Plan.
• May perform sampling or in-place testing of soils, aggregate base, concrete, and asphalt pavement.
