Komatsu Mining Corp. is seeking a Hydraulic Shovel Technician to join our field maintenance team. You will diagnose, repair, and service hydraulic shovels, drills, and excavators to keep our mining fleet performing at peak efficiency.

The role emphasizes advanced diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and safe operation practices, with downtime reduction and thorough documentation as key outcomes.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and technical training in heavy equipment hydraulics or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years in maintenance/repair of large hydraulic mining/construction equipment.
• Knowledge of fluid power, hydraulics, diesel engines, and electrical components.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics on hydraulic and electrical systems to identify issues.
• Dismantle, repair, and replace hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, and hoses.
• Conduct preventative maintenance, lubrication, and wear analysis to prevent breakdowns.
• Interpret hydraulic schematics and manuals to guide repairs and maintenance.
• Adhere to safety protocols including LOTO and OSHA/MSHA regulations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records for lifecycle tracking and compliance.
• Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and technicians to resolve complex issues.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimize downtime and restore service.
