Job summary

Komatsu Mining Corp. seeks a Hydraulic Shovel Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic mining equipment including shovels, drills, and excavators. You will perform advanced diagnostics, service hydraulic components, and ensure equipment readiness for demanding mining operations.

You will work with a maintenance team to minimize downtime, uphold safety standards, and document activities for lifecycle tracking and compliance reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of vocational/technical training in heavy equipment mechanics or industrial hydraulics preferred.
• 3–5 years' experience maintaining large hydraulic mining or construction equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics on hydraulic and electrical systems and identify issues such as leaks or faults.
• Dismantle, repair, and replace hydraulic components to meet manufacturer specs.
• Carry out preventative maintenance including lubrication and wear analysis.
• Interpret hydraulic schematics, manuals, and diagrams to guide tasks.
• Adhere to safety protocols including LOTO and OSHA/MSHA regulations.
• Maintain detailed maintenance and parts records for lifecycle tracking.
• Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and other technicians to resolve issues.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
