Job summary

Komatsu Mining Corp. is seeking a skilled Hydraulic Shovel Technician to join our field maintenance team. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic shovels, drills and excavators to ensure peak performance in demanding mining conditions.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience with hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and electrical components, and will work closely with supervisors to minimize downtime while upholding safety standards and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years maintaining large hydraulic mining or construction equipment.
• Strong knowledge of fluid power systems, hydraulic circuits, diesel engines, and electrical components.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-depth diagnostics on hydraulic and electrical systems to identify leaks, failures, or faults.
• Disassemble, repair, and replace hydraulic components (pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, high-pressure hoses).
• Conduct preventative maintenance, lubrication, wear analysis, and inspections to prevent breakdowns.
• Interpret hydraulic schematics, manuals, and diagrams to guide repairs safely and effectively.
• Adhere to safety protocols (LOTO) and OSHA/MSHA regulations in all tasks.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records for lifecycle tracking and compliance.
• Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and other technicians to troubleshoot issues.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
