Job summary

Komatsu Mining Corp. is seeking a Hydraulic Shovel Technician to join our field maintenance team. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems and heavy equipment to keep mining operations productive.

The role emphasizes safety, uptime, and teamwork, with opportunities to work on excavators, drills, and shovels in diverse sites. A strong background in hydraulics and electrical systems is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of vocational or technical training in heavy equipment mechanics, industrial hydraulics, or a related field is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of proven experience in maintenance and repair of large hydraulic mining or construction equipment.
• Strong knowledge of fluid power systems, hydraulic circuits, diesel engines, and electrical components.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, hydraulic schematics, and electrical wiring diagrams.
• Must own and maintain a comprehensive set of tools; CDL/MSHA considered advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Advanced Diagnostics & Troubleshooting on hydraulic and electrical systems to identify leaks or faults.
• Hydraulic component maintenance: dismantle, repair, and replace pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, hoses.
• Preventative care: inspections, lubrication, wear analysis to prevent breakdowns.
• Interpret hydraulic schematics, manuals, and diagrams to guide tasks safely.
• Adhere to safety protocols including LOTO and OSHA/MSHA regulations.
• Maintain maintenance records for lifecycle tracking and reporting.
• Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and technicians to resolve issues.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime.
