Job summary

Komatsu Mining Corp. is seeking a skilled Hydraulic Shovel Technician to join our field maintenance team in the mining sector. The role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining hydraulic systems across heavy equipment such as shovels, drills, and excavators, ensuring peak performance and safety.

You will minimize downtime by performing advanced diagnostics, component maintenance, and preventive care while adhering to strict safety protocols and documentation practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of vocational/technical training in heavy equipment mechanics or industrial hydraulics is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of fluid power systems and hydraulic circuits.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, hydraulic schematics, and electrical diagrams.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-depth diagnostics on hydraulic and electrical systems, identifying leaks, component failures, or faults.
• Dismantle, repair, and replace hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, and hoses to spec.
• Carry out preventive maintenance, lubrication, wear analysis, and inspections.
• Interpret hydraulic schematics and equipment manuals to guide repairs.
• Adhere to safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout and OSHA/MSHA regulations.
• Maintain precise maintenance records for lifecycle tracking and reporting.
• Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
