Job summary

Komatsu Mining Corp. is seeking a Hydraulic Shovel Technician to join our field maintenance team in remote mining operations.

You will diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems on heavy equipment including shovels, drills, and excavators to keep fleets productive and safe. The role requires 3–5 years in large hydraulic equipment, strong reading of schematics, and a commitment to safety with LOTO/OSHA/MSHA standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
• 3–5 years experience in maintenance/repair of large hydraulic mining or construction equipment.
• Strong knowledge of fluid power systems, hydraulic circuits, diesel engines, and electrical components.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and hydraulic/electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-depth diagnostics on hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Dismantle, repair, and replace hydraulic components to spec.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and lubrication routines.
• Interpret hydraulic schematics and manuals to guide tasks.
• Enforce safety protocols including LOTO and OSHA/MSHA rules.
• Maintain maintenance records for lifecycle tracking.
• Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to solve issues.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
