Job summary

Komatsu Mining Corp. is seeking a highly skilled Hydraulic Shovel Technician to join our field maintenance team in a on-site role.

The technician will diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic shovels, drills, and excavators to ensure peak performance for mining operations. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience with large hydraulic equipment, strong knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems, and the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; vocational training preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience with large hydraulic mining/construction equipment.
• Knowledge of fluid power, hydraulics, diesel engines, and electrical components.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-depth diagnostics on hydraulic and electrical systems to identify issues.
• Dismantle, repair, and replace hydraulic components per specs.
• Conduct preventative maintenance, lubrication, and wear analysis.
• Interpret hydraulic schematics and manuals to guide repairs.
• Ensure safety with LOTO protocols and OSHA/MSHA compliance.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records and report findings.
• Collaborate with supervisors and other technicians to solve issues.
• Respond to breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime.
