Job summary

Optimized Process Designs (OPD), a Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) company, seeks a Field HR Generalist to support field construction operations across west Texas and southeastern New Mexico. This role partners with Construction Managers, site leaders, and field supervisors to strengthen workforce readiness and employee relations in a project-driven EPC environment.

The ideal candidate will maintain a constant field presence, advise on staffing during mobilization, and drive supervisor

Qualifications

• Field HR Generalist with experience supporting an operational or field-based workforce.
• Experience coaching managers or frontline supervisors.
• Independently handle employee relations matters and investigations with support from SME peers.
• Willingness to travel among project sites and work in the field.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Construction Managers, site leaders, and field supervisors to connect workforce decisions to safety, quality, schedule, productivity, cost, and project outcomes.
• Maintain a regular field presence and operating cadence across sites, adjusting time based on project phase and risks.
• Coach field leaders to set expectations, provide feedback, address performance issues, and own day-to-day people leadership.
• Support mobilization, ramp-up, delineate staffing plans, onboarding readiness, and retention of critical capability.
• Advise on staffing needs, onboarding readiness, talent movement, and employee communications during mobilization and transitions.
• Collaborate on talent selection, development, succession, and deployment for field roles including construction leadership and craft-adjacent positions.
• Navigate employee relations matters and workplace investigations with sound judgment and urgency.
• Strengthen crew culture, communication, accountability, and employee engagement; promote safe, respectful work environment.
• Coordinate with Recruiting, Total Rewards, HR Operations, Legal, and Compliance to deliver field-ready solutions.
• Distinguish between HR-judgment work and field-leadership tasks, building supervisor capability.
• Share workforce insights across projects to improve mobilization and talent pipelines.
