Generator Supercenter in Wheeling, IL is hiring a dependable Generator Mechanic / Service Technician to join our field-based team. You will travel to residential job sites using a company-provided service vehicle and perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on whole-home standby generators.

The ideal candidate has 1+ years of generator service or related mechanical/electrical work, reads schematics, and can communicate clearly with customers while following safety protocols.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of generator service or related mechanical/electrical work.
• Reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals is required.
• Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Travel to residential job sites using a company-provided service vehicle.
• Perform diagnostics, routine maintenance, and repairs on whole-home standby generators.
• Troubleshoot and service mechanical and electrical components, including ATS systems.
• Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Clearly communicate with customers regarding services performed and any recommendations.
• Accurately document all work in our service management software.
• Follow safety protocols and industry best practices when working around electricity.
• Support emergency service calls during weather-related outages or storms, as needed.
