Job summary

The Generator Mechanic/Service Technician will travel to customers’ homes using a company vehicle to perform repair work and preventive maintenance on whole home standby generators. You will read technical manuals and electrical diagrams, communicate with customers, and document services in the company software system.

Normal hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am–5 pm, with potential schedule changes for severe weather. Safety and quality workmanship are emphasized in this role.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals, electrical wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
• Ability to drive company vehicles safely to each customer’s residence within and surrounding area.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer’s residence using company vehicle.
• Communicate arrival, work performed, and issues resolved to customers.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain home generators.
• Follow manuals, diagrams, blueprints, and procedures.
• Test and troubleshoot transfer switches.
• Document services in electronic software system.
• Adhere to safety practices and requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
